PRESIDENTS MESSAGE | Verlon Salley

Greetings NAHSE Alabama,

I am deeply honored to serve as your president.  Our officers and committees have been hard at work with recruiting members, planning exciting innovative programs, and keeping our members informed about chapter events and other activities.  We have 35 members!  Our goal is to have 50 members by October and 75 by the end of the year.  The goal may seem lofty but I know it is a goal that we can achieve.  We encourage all of our members to recruit one new member by the end of the year.

Our pillar goals are the heart of our chapter:  (1) People – Recognizing and growing our greatest assets, (2) Professional Development – Cultivating the skills of all members to expand their capabilities, (3) Visionary – Engaging in a shared vision to support a healthier community, (4) Health Disparities – Partnering with healthcare providers to make a difference in community health and (5) Unbreakable – Building an everlasting foundation by employing our values.  As a team, I am confident that we can meet these goals.

I am happy about our collaboration with the Alabama Hospital Association, American College of Healthcare Executives, UAB Minority Health and Health Disparities Research Center, UAB Medicine Value Based Care and the City of Birmingham.  Thank you for the opportunity to serve and let’s go out there and connect, recruit, inspire others to greatness.
